Our short answer
For everyday PLA or PETG projects, compare the A1 mini and A1 against your actual model dimensions first. Consider an enclosed machine when the material requires it. Detailed resin miniatures involve a different preparation and finishing workflow, not just a different printer size.
Only if the first projects need it. Price the single-color setup and complete bundle separately, then compare slicer material estimates. A feeder does not compensate for a build plate that is too small.
What should I check before ordering in the US?
Slice three representative files with the intended printer profile. Check orientation, supports and estimated time, then the exact bundle, shipping and sales tax for your delivery address.
The A1 mini offers 180 mm on each axis; the A1 offers 256 mm. If your objects fit the smaller volume with support and orientation margins, more build volume may not add value. If you want single-piece organizers or larger scenery, measure them before choosing.
When an enclosure matters
The P1S has an enclosure; the A1 models do not. This is a practical distinction when evaluating material requirements, not proof of better output for every PLA object. Confirm nozzle, profiles and workspace requirements together.
