How much space does it need?

The A1 is an open-frame FDM printer with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, more room on each axis than the A1 mini while staying in the same family. It suits storage pieces, decorative objects, and larger parts than the mini version targets.
Staying open-frame carries the same limits as elsewhere in the A series: this structure suits PLA and PETG well, without offering the thermal conditions of an enclosed machine.
Materials and configuration
The machine prints PLA and PETG per manufacturer profiles, with no need for an enclosed chassis to run well on either material.
AMS lite remains optional on the A1 as on the A1 mini; the exact contents of your chosen bundle (with or without AMS lite) should be checked before buying.
What the bundle includes or not
The A1's open frame is not a substitute for an enclosure with ABS or ASA in regular use; these materials shrink while cooling and benefit more from an enclosed machine.
Check precisely whether your chosen listing includes the AMS lite or whether it's a separate add-on, since contents vary by retailer and bundle.
Before buying, compare the A1's spec sheet and the exact bundle contents listed by the retailer (accessories, AMS lite included or not) rather than relying only on the product photo. Warranty terms and after-sales support can also differ between Bambu Lab's own store and a third-party retailer, worth checking before comparing two listings. Since an open frame means the printer sits exposed on a desk or shelf, it is also worth checking the footprint and clearance needed around the machine before deciding where it will live day to day.
