Does 16K guarantee better miniatures?

No. The label describes the screen rather than a finished figure. Resin, exposure, orientation and supports also affect the result. Look for comparable prints of the same file under a documented protocol.

How much build space does a miniature need?

Import the figure with its base and supports. Figure height alone is insufficient because tilting changes the bounding box. For batches, check the supported layout rather than multiplying an assumed number of figures.

Small figures and fine surface detail

Resin printing is worth considering for small figures with fine surface features. Mars 5 Ultra and Saturn 4 Ultra 16K are our documented resin candidates. We have not printed miniature samples on these machines, so this is a process-based shortlist rather than a tested winner.

Terrain and larger pieces

For buildings, trays and larger scenery, compare the dimensions against an FDM printer’s usable volume. Allow room for brims and supports. Dividing a building into sections can avoid buying a larger printer solely for one model.

Check the model license

Before selling printed miniatures, read the individual designer’s license. A downloadable or free STL does not automatically allow commercial use. Keep the license and attribution requirements with the project.
