Which projects is it for?

The Kobra 3 Max carries over the Kobra 3's architecture in a much larger footprint, with a 420 × 420 × 500 mm nominal build volume per Anycubic. It suits bulky parts (fairings, storage bins, life-size accessories) and multiple batches printed at once on a large plate.

The advertised speed stays high, up to 600 mm/s, which helps keep print time reasonable despite the larger footprint. With the optional ACE Pro, up to eight colors remain possible on this base, just like on the standard Kobra 3.

Materials and setup

The printer runs PLA, PETG, and TPU per Anycubic, with a nozzle advertised up to 300°C and a bed up to 90°C, a lower ceiling than the standard Kobra 3 to limit heat-up time on a bed this size.

Automatic LeviQ 3.0 leveling recalibrates the surface before each print. TPU is not compatible with the ACE Pro for multicolor use per the manufacturer, and the open frame lists neither ABS nor ASA among its advertised materials.

What the bundle includes or not

Per Anycubic's listing, the Kobra 3 Max alone ships across several modules: frame, print head, touchscreen, spool holder, printer base, several hardware bags, a wrench set, a support rod, a cable holder, and two power cords.

The ACE Pro, needed for multicolor printing up to eight colors with two units, is sold separately. Before buying, check the retailer's listing for whether it includes this module or only the machine alone, plus the exact hardware and assembly accessories.

Before finalizing a purchase, compare the exact spec sheet and box contents listed by the retailer rather than relying only on the product photo, especially for the number of spare nozzles, cables included, and assembly accessories. Warranty terms and technical support can also differ noticeably between Anycubic's own store and a third-party retailer, worth checking before comparing two similarly priced offers. Since filament beyond the test spool is not included, it's also worth budgeting for ongoing material costs as part of the overall setup rather than treating the listed price as the full cost.

Alternatives to compare

For a more compact footprint in the same lineup, the Kobra 3 shares the same base technology with a smaller footprint. For another open-frame large-format option, the Creality CR-M4 offers a similar volume from a competing manufacturer.
