The Mars 5 is an entry-level MSLA resin printer, with a monochrome 4K screen and a 143.43 × 89.6 × 150 mm build volume per Elegoo. It targets resin beginners who want to print figurines and miniatures without juggling settings before every session.
One-click automatic leveling and a pre-print self-check, advertised by Elegoo, cut down on the initial setup compared with resin printers that rely on fully manual leveling.
Materials and setup
The printer runs compatible 405 nm UV resins, each with its own profile and post-processing steps per Elegoo. The COB light source paired with the 4K screen at 4098 × 2560 pixels aims for fine detail reproduction.
Only one resin can be loaded at a time, with no automatic color or material switching. The printer is advertised as compatible with the Elegoo Marsmate air purifier to limit resin odors, sold separately.
What the bundle includes or not
Elegoo’s “What’s In Box” list includes the printer, build plate, resin tank, USB drive, gloves, mask, tools, and scrapers. Accessory purchase buttons provide replacement parts; they do not mean the resin tank is missing from the box.
The smart mechanical sensor detects residue that could damage the LCD screen and flags low resin or leveling failures per Elegoo, but the printer has neither Wi-Fi nor a built-in camera.
Alternatives to compare
For a sharper screen and a slightly larger volume, the Mars 5 Ultra steps up to a 9K screen at a higher price. For a noticeably bigger plate, the Saturn 4 targets batch runs rather than single parts.
