Choosing resin for a 3D printer
Select the exact resin for the printer’s exposure system and your intended object. Include washing, post-curing and handling requirements in the decision.
Check the product documents
Read the technical and safety data sheets, then look for a profile for the exact printer. Standard, flexible and engineering resins are different formulations; do not transfer settings just because the labels look similar.
Budget for the whole process
Include supports, washing supplies and post-curing equipment. Check that the largest part fits the washing and curing setup as well as the printer. The machine’s cover does not replace the workspace requirements in the documentation.
Plan waste handling
Water-washable describes a cleaning process, not permission to put used wash water down a drain. Follow the resin maker’s instructions and local waste services. Keep the product data sheet available when deciding how to handle waste.
