Do not infer performance from the family name alone
Strength may mean stiffness, impact behavior or performance at a particular temperature. Define the requirement and compare material data. Layer orientation and part geometry still matter.
Can I keep my PLA settings?
Do not assume they transfer. Select a PETG profile for the printer and filament and check build-surface instructions. Change one variable at a time when tuning so the effect remains understandable.
Different brands and blends can behave differently. Check the temperature, storage and application guidance for the exact spool. A decorative indoor model and a loaded part exposed to heat need different evaluations.
