The printer profile comes first
A slicer turns geometry into machine instructions. Confirm support for your exact model, build volume, nozzle and firmware. A similar model name is not enough to guarantee that a profile is appropriate.

Use the official project or manufacturer download. Check operating-system support and the documentation for the installed version. Keep a known working profile before changing advanced settings.
Compare estimates consistently
Use the same object, orientation, layer height and material when comparing settings. Time and material shown by the slicer are estimates, not a bench test.
